IPX Filter Rule Settings

IPX Rule Number

The number assigned to the IPX rule. Lower number rules filter first, hence rule number sequence is very important.

Action

PERMIT allows a packet that matches the filter to pass through the interface. DENY prevents the packet from passing through the interface. Any packet that is not explicitly permitted by a PERMIT rule is denied, and any packet not explicitly denied by a DENY rule is permitted.

Source Net

IPX network number---a 32-bit hexadecimal value---to compare to the source IPX network number of the packet.

Source Host

IPX node address---usually the 48-bit hexadecimal value that is the MAC address of the host---to compare to the source IPX node address of the packet.

Source Comparison

Specifies that the source socket number of the packet must be EQ, LT, or GT the number of the source socket. More

Source Socket

A socket number specfied for the comparison, an integer from 1 to 65535.

Destination Net

IPX network number---a 32-bit hexadecimal value---to compare to the destination IPX network number of the packet.

Destination Host

IPX node address---a 48-bit hexadecimal value, usually the MAC address---to compare to the destination IPX node address of the packet.

Destination Comparison

Specifies that the destination socket number of the packet must be EQ, LT, or GT the destination socket number.

Destination Socket

Socket number specified for the comparison---an integer from 1 to 65535.
