Posted 01-23-01 The following termination causes relate to ISDN, asynchronous, and synchronous connections: Termination Cause Description Admin Reset A reset S0 command was issued on that port. The incoming call is for a dialback Callback -User Requested user, the PortMaster terminated the connection to call back the user. Host Request The user requested to reset the port. Host Request (PMD) The user requested to reset the port using the in.pmd service. Idle Timeout The user was disconnected by the idle timer. The user did not respond to the Login Timeout login: prompt in the time specified by the login timer. The session terminated when the local modem dropped the Data Carrier Detect (DCD) signal for some reason. For example: Lost Carrier * The remote user or modem hung up the telephone. No problem exists. * The line was dropped or received interference too severe for the modem to recover from. Lost Service-Interface Down The logical interface is down. Lost Service-Interface Error An unspecified interface error occurred. Lost Service-LMI The PortMaster lost connectivity to the Frame Relay switch. Port Error- Exceeded LAPM The PortMaster exceeded the Link retrans limit Access Procedure for Modems (LAPM) retransmission limit. The PortMaster either exceeded the Microcom Networking protocol (MNP) Port Error- Exceeded MNP retransmission limit (12 retries) or retrans limit the idle timer expired waiting for Link Request (1 second) or Link Acknowledge (5 seconds). Port Error-PPP could not send The PortMaster was trying to send PPP and could not for an unknown reason. The PortMaster is receiving its own Port Error- PPP loop detected data, possibly due to a CSU/DSU malfunction. A Clear To Send (CTS), Data Set Ready (DSR) and/or Data Carrier Detect Port Error- Spurious Interrupts (DCD) signal was toggling more than 10,000 times in a 1-second window, so the PortMaster reset the port. The port is set for network Port Error-Wrong Type connections only, and a login user attempted to connect. Service Unavailable-Device An outbound connection could not Unavailable connect because the host did not reply. Service Unavailable-Dial Script The dial script on an outbound Failed connection failed. Service Unavailable-Failed to The remote end of a connection does detect V.42 Remote not support V.42bis compression. Service Unavailable-Host An inbound connection could not Unavailable connect because the host did not reply. A master point-to-point (PTP) list is Service Unavailable-Master Out not synchronized with slave of Sync PortMaster products in a Multichassis PPP bundle. The rate negotiated for the User Error-Local link rates do downstream connection is smaller than not match remote the minimum connection speed parameter specified by the host. User Error-Non LR received in The PortMaster received a zero-length MNP init link rate. The timer has expired while trying to User Error-LAPM negotiation detect an XID or SABME command. The timeout timeout value is 30 seconds for K56Flex connections, and 5 seconds otherwise. User Error-PPP NCP active to The PortMaster received a reply reply during an active PPP session. User Error- PPP NCP active to The PortMaster received a request for request a connection during an active PPP session. User Error-PPP LCP Protocol The connection was refused at the Reject Link Control Protocol (LCP) layer. User Request-Admin Quit The user typed exit at the command prompt.
